Eugene Robinson Murrell
Eugene Robinson Murrell, age 94, of Newport, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville. He was a Christian and attended English Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Cora Murrell, brothers, Carl, Ray and J. D., sisters, Grady Noris, Belle Butler, Swannie Breeden.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Madaline Templin Murrell; sisters-in-law: Polly Murrell, Johnny Wilson, Joyce Rolen, brother-in-law, Bill Templin, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, all who were very special to him and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Baxter Templin Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as honorary pallbears.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
