Leon Holt
Leon Holt, age 73, of the Centerview Community, passed away suddenly Friday afternoon Sept. 26, 2008 doing what he loved best, farming. He was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a member of the Warrensburg Masonic Lodge and Centerview Ruritan Club where he served as Chaplain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Taft and Bernice Holt, brothers and sisters-in-law Earl and Pearl Sneed, Jimmy Holt and brother-in–law Joe Luttrell.
Survivors are his wife of almost 53 years, Mary Wise Holt, very special nephew whom he thought of as a son, Joey Suggs, his wife Tonya and son Nathan all of Bybee, sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Bradford Reed, Eloise and James Ellison, Otha Mae and H. A. Reed, Nancy Turner all of Bybee and Josephine Luttrell of Newport, sister-in-law Mary Jo Holt, Morristown, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved church and all its members at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church whom were all considered brothers and sister. He also had many special friends including Jappie Buckner and Edwin Holt.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday, September 28 and 29, 2008 at the Brown Funeral Home, Masonic service will be at 8 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
