Kenneth Robert Wilburn, born March 15, 1940, died Tuesday October 7, 2008 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital after a battle with lung cancer at the age of 68.

He was a retired construction worker, plumber and electrician. He was a former member of the Newport Rescue Squad.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Ernest Wilburn, Maternal grandparents James and Dora Stokley, Paternal grandparents Nathaniel and Mary Jane Wilburn,Step grandfather Ruble Willis, brother-in-law Denton Grigsby and mother and father-in-law Dolphas and Jenette Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Lodema Hale Wilburn of Parrottsville, Children Misty DeAnn Wilburn of Parrottsville, Gerry Wilburn of Newport and Gene Wilburn. His mother Kate Wilburn of Del Rio. Sisters Marie Grigsby of Del Rio and Frances Morrow of Newport. Brothers J.D. Wilburn and wife Brenda,Troy Wilburn and wife Joann and Perry Wilburn all of Del Rio.

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Marie and Gene Widener, Crickett Russell, Dorothy and Dwight Wilson, Poke and Dorsey Fine, Kathy and Mike Self, Faye Haney, Jake and Karen Hale and Beecher Hale. Uncle Jack Stokley and wife Vicki of Morristown and Aunt Hester Woody and husband Leon of Del Rio.

Kenneth is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Special friends Mr. and Mrs Rodney Hance, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haney and Mr. Gary Allen.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Blanchard and the Rev Arthur Willis officiating. Burial will be at the Stokley Cemetery on black Branch Road Del Rio.

The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday evening from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m.
