Allene Messer

Allene Messer, age 79, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Messer, daughter, Karen Frazier and son Donald K. Messer. father and mother, Harrison and Cissie Phillips, sisters Beulah Raines, Thelma Davis, and Opal Valentine, brothers, Oscar Phillips and Hal Phillips.

She is survived by her son, Tippy Messer, daughter, Louise Powell, grandchildren, Dawn Ball, Clayton Ramsey, Alisha Frazier, Lisa Ranee Messer, six great-grandchildren, sisters Shirley Sweeden of Morristown, Iva Phillips of Edwina, and Fern McFalls of Newport.

Funeral services will be8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Hall officiating.

Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 in Phillips Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
